Re: Judging Opportunity-Wichita Area DECA Competitions

Date of Competition: 10/26/17

On behalf of Wichita Area DECA, our Kansas DECA Central Region Vice-president, Bri Clark and Kansas DECA Secretary/Treasurer, Hailey Colborn, I am inquiring about the possibility of having you serve as a judge for this year’s Wichita Area DECA Competitions (WADECA). Our WADECA competitions will be held on Thursday, October 26th, at the Newman University Library Conference Center. Our conference is made possible by having great volunteers like you, serve as judges for these competitions.

The time frame for judges would be from 8:30 AM to noon. Judges will complete two sessions of business role plays with the students. A new role play (business situation) will be provided and reviewed prior to each session. If you have a co-worker or associate that would also like to judge, please pass along their name as they would be more than welcome. This is also a great opportunity to network with fellow business professionals, so bring your business cards to share as well. We are hoping to acquire 30+ judges as this conference will have all Wichita Public schools along with area schools totaling around 300 students. Coffee, beverages and snacks will be provided for the judges.

This conference is a great opportunity for students to interact with professionals from the business community. For a lot of the students, this will be their first ever DECA competition. These competitions are a building block for students as they prepare for Kansas DECA Competitions in Kansas City and International DECA Competitions in Atlanta, Georgia. Please reply via email or telephone as to your availability. Your support is greatly appreciated!
