A Wichita innovator is taking his latest invention international, and he's doing it all with the help of a local nonprofit. He's taking light and turning it into communication in a more soothing way. John Harrison started the plans are making the lanterns for his family. He made one for each family member. They're called Filimin and no matter where they are across the country or across the world, one person can touch one, lighting it up and the others will light the same color.

It's a way of communicating emotions without words.

He says the idea is more organic than a text message or Facebook post.
